About Dr. Parmenter

Sherri Parmenter is a lifelong educator and lawyer who is serving her third term on the Galloway Township Board of Education. A proven vote-getter in Galloway, Sherri has overseen significant capital projects like the construction of a new facilities building, extensive renovations to Arthur Rann Elementary School, vast IT upgrades across all the schools, and enhanced security measures to ensure student safety and to support our law enforcement. While she was initially going to pursue a legal career, Sherri fell in love with teaching. She has spent her life serving as both a K-8 education and an adjunct college professor. Currently, Sherri teaches in Atlantic City Public Schools.

Aside from education, Sherri’s commitment to public service also includes 25 years on the Atlantic County Juvenile Conference Committee 6 on the Atlantic County Mental Health Advisory Board, several volunteering with the Community Food Bank of South Jersey, and as a writer with the American Red Cross for 6 years. Sherri holds a BA from Hampton University, a J.D. from Atlanta Law School, a Master’s in Instructional Technology from Stockton University, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Rowan University. She is also a member, past president, past recording secretary, past executive advisor, of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc., Iota Chapter and is also a member of Atlantic City Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Sherri grew up in Pleasantville, NJ and is the daughter of Lawrence and Elizabeth Stroud. She currently lives in Galloway Township.
